Jerry Glenn Barnes, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on August 12, 2025, in Haywood County, North Carolina. He was born on August 22, 1957, in Buncombe County, North Carolina.

Jerry's life was characterized by his love for the outdoors, particularly his passion for fishing, which brought him immense joy and tranquility. He also had a keen interest in hot rods, reflecting his appreciation for craftsmanship and speed. These interests were a significant part of who he was, providing cherished moments that he often shared with family and friends.

Throughout his life, Jerry was known as a wonderful husband to his wife, Linda Barnes. His profound commitment to his family was evident in his role as a father to Joshua Barnes and as a doting grandfather to his grandsons, Gage and Jared Barnes. His family was undoubtedly his greatest pride and joy, and he nurtured their lives with love and support.

Jerry is also survived by his sister, Ann Barnes, and brothers, Arthur and Dale Barnes, who will carry forward fond memories of their time together.

He leaves behind a legacy rooted in the love he shared with his family, the friendships he cherished, and the passions he pursued. Jerry's warm and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The care of Mr. Barnes has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Canton, North Carolina.
