Jean Millwood

Waynesville, Emma Jean Millwood, 80, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Smoky Mountain Health & Rehabilitation Center. A native of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Jhonnie and Ivlee Messer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Millwood who died in 2015; an infant son, Richard Dewayne Millwood. Jean was a member of Lakeview Nazarene Church, and retired from Haywood Community College. Jean is survived by two daughters, Charlene Carswell, and her husband, Tommy, and Susan Scruggs, and her husband, Randall, all of Lake Junaluska; a brother, Fred Messer, of Travelers Rest, South Carolina; a grandson, Charlie T. Carswell, and his wife, Colleen, of Charlotte; two great grandsons, Christopher and Callahan; special friend and caregiver, Suky Clark; and grand-dog, Moose. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 24, 2017 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Rhonda Haney officiating.
