Jean Howard

Jean Miller Howard, 92, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Silver Bluff Nursing Home.

Jean was a native of Madison County and a daughter of the late Olen R and Viola Roberts Miller.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kelley Eugene Howard, who died in 1998 and son, Ronald Eugene “Ron” Howard in 2017; grandsons, Christopher Massie in 2005 and Ethan James in 2018.

Jean was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church and a wonderful Mother and  homemaker for many years.

She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Caldwell and husband, Robert, of Canton; son, Randy Lee Howard and wife, Diane, of Conover; a daughter-in-law, Mary Howard of Naples, Florida; grandchildren, Todd Massie (Michele), Jennifer Howard Lee (Brian), KC Howard (Katie), Katie Howard James (John), Michelle Howard Long (Reed), Lauren Howard Vaughan (Logan); great grandchildren, Kelly Massie, Daniel Massie, Kelli Lee, Christopher Lee, Haley Lee, Madison Howard, Ryan Howard, Kyle Howard, Adelyn James, Miller James, Esme James, Aamund James, Caroline Long, Katie Long and Landry Vaughan.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at Spring Hill Baptist Church with the Reverend Matt Rhea and Dr. Roy Kilby officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church.  Pallbearers will be Todd Massie, KC Howard, Reed Long, John James, Daniel Massie and Kelly Massie.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spring Hill Baptist Church, 1918 Murray Road, Canton, NC  28716.

The care of Mrs. Howard has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes of Canton.
