Jean Couch

Una Jean Couch, 93, of Candler passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023 at Pisgah Manor.  A native of Charlotte, NC, she was the daughter of the late Bura Allison Kendrick and Cora Jane Stanford Kendrick.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lester Couch; sisters, Nancy Christenbury, Pauline McCarver, and Leitha Abernathy; and brothers, Everett Kendrick and B. A. Kendrick, Jr.

Jean was a long-time resident of Asheville Terrace. She loved Gospel and Blue Grass music, watching Westerns on TV, and reading.

She is survived by her son, Rodney Kendrick; niece, Donna Moody as well as many other nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, August 4, 2023 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 1 Chapel of Faith Drive, Candler, NC with Dexter Greene officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Meals on Wheels of Asheville and Buncombe County.

The care of Mrs. Couch has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Candler.
