Janice Kirkland

Janice Gerlene Tilson Kirkland, 79, of Canton, beloved wife of the late Bobby “Gene”, sister to the late Christine, loving mother of Melanie (Freddy Keilman) and the late Jeffery, proud Grandmother to Daniel and Julia Phillips, five great-grandchildren, and a bonus family of loving Keilman grandchildren and great-grandchildren went to be with her lord and savior Jesus Christ in Heaven on Good Friday, April 7, 2023.

Gerlene was born on February 8, 1944, to Ennis and Daffia Tilson (Campbell) of Franklin, NC. She excelled as a Tupperware manager in the mountain area for many years, making friends everywhere she went due to her outgoing and bright personality. She enjoyed traveling with Freddy and Melanie, spending time with her lifelong best friend and sister-in law Judy, shopping and dining out with her dear friends, watching and talking about golf, and reading her Bible. Gerlene passed peacefully under the loving care of the John Keever Solace Center in Asheville with her daughter at her side.

Her service will be held at the Canton chapel of the Wells Funeral Home, 3715 Asheville Hwy, Canton, NC 28716 on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 2:00.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canton Wesleyan Church..
