Janice "Jan" C. Griffin 86 passed away on April 8, 2025, at Autumn Care of Waynesville.

Jan was born November 8, 1938, in Centerville, Iowa to the late Ernest Heintze and Mabel Heintze and was predeceased by her brother Jerry Heintze.

Jan and her husband loved the mountains and after vacationing in the mountains for over 25 years they moved to Waynesville in 2006. Jan was an avid reader, loved her cats and enthusiastically devoted a substantial amount of her time volunteering with numerous organizations. Above all, Jan was a loyal servant to God. She loved the church and sharing the love and warmth of our savior, Jesus Christ.

Jan is survived by Howard Griffin, her beloved husband of 56 years; a son Randy Lyle Griffin of Kellogg, Iowa; grandchildren Jayme Griffin of Newton, Iowa and Jared Griffin of Des Moines, Iowa and three great grandchildren Mercy Griffin, Messiah Griffin and Josiah Griffin.

A funeral mass will be celebrated by Fr. Paul McNulty at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Waynesville. Interment will follow at St. John the Evangelist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Jan's memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association by visiting the Alzheimer's Association website and following the instructions to make a donation.

The care of Mrs. Griffin has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville
