James "J.C." Cochran, Jr.

Waynesville, James "J.C." Cochran, Jr., age 80, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Mission Hospital.

A native of Haywood County, he was a son of James Cochran, Sr. and Edna Sarah Moody Cochran.  He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 30 years, Virginia "Ginny" Wilson Cochran, who died in March 2021.  The loss of Ginny broke J.C.’s heart and every day he missed being with her.

J.C. was employed by Dayco Corporation for 33 years and took pride in his role in the distribution department.  Going to the lake was one of his favorite activities and many fond memories were made there.  A member of Lakeview Church of the Nazarene, he also loved football and baseball.

J.C. is survived by his three dear stepchildren, David (Courtney) Myers of Waynesville; Catherine (Marcel) Balda of Gardnerville, Nevada; and Scott (Heather) Hoyle, of Minden, Nevada.

The care of Mr. Cochran has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
