James Wilson, Jr.

Canton – James “Jimmy” Marcus Wilson, Jr., 69, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at his residence.

Jimmy was native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a son of the late James Marcus and Joy Webb Wilson.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Wilson Hipps.  Jimmy loved buying, trading, selling, hunting, and going to the lake.  He served three years in the United States Army and retired from Evergreen Packaging with 39 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Vicki Stuart Wilson; daughter, Christy Greene (Bryan) of Clyde; son, Brent Wilson (Emmylou) of Canton; and three grandchildren, Tillman Greene, Parker and Hayden Wilson.

A visitation will be held, at his residence of 763 Scruggs Circle, from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2022 with a brief service following.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jimmy’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.

The care of Mr. Wilson has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes of Canton.
