James Simonds

Sylva-James Cline "Jim" Simonds-48 of Mosaic Lane, died Monday, October 14, 2002 at Memorial Mission Hospital.

He was a native of Haywood County and was a son of the late Harold and Janey Cline Simonds. He was the husband of the late Arlesia Warren Simonds who died in 1988. Mr. Simonds was employed by Azalea Housing in Canton as a heavy equipment operator and mason. He was an avid outdoorsman and was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.

He is survived by one daughter, Jessica Nicole Simonds of Waynesville, two sisters, Dena Schmidt of Clyde and Peggy Delores Putnam of Conway, SC and one brother, Lee Simonds of Canton.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 18, 2002 at the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes with Miriam Helton officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
