Clyde – James “Jimmy” Kermit Moore, Jr. passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at the John F. Keever Solace Center.
Jimmy was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a son of the late James Kermit Moore, Sr. and Azalee Clark Moore Duckett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Gary Lee and David Roger Moore and Gene Clark; a sister, Myrtle Thomasson; stepfather, C.J. Duckett; and a grandson, Dakota Moore. Jimmy was a United States Army veteran having served during the Vietnam War. He was a carpenter by trade, retiring in 1992, and a member of Center Pigeon Baptist Church.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Dills Moore; a daughter, Angie Moore of Clyde; two sons, James Wesley Moore (Misty) of Waynesville and Ronnie Moore (Brandi) of St. George, South Carolina; one sister, Martha Frazier of Canton; three brothers, Richard, Carl, and Don Moore; and seven grandchildren, Austin Moore, Cheyenne Marsh, Kali Moore, Bobby Lee and Jennifer Burgess, Caitlin Fullbright, and Erica Warren; and three great-grandchildren, Brantley Sims, Charlie Burgess and Haven Marsh..
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at Center Pigeon Baptist Church with the Reverend Scott Poole, Reverend Allen Blanton and Reverend Scotty Rollins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
