James Mehaffey

James "JV" Mehaffey, Jr., 87, formerly of Candler, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018 in Greenville, SC. He was born in Buncombe County to the late James and Daley Stamey Mehaffey. He served in the US Navy and retired from BASF in Enka. While living in Candler, he attended Pole Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Florence Cathey.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Alma Hawkins Mehaffey; children, Jimmy (Lisa) Mehaffey and Janice Hinnant; grandchildren, Ryan and Cale Mehaffey and Kevin Hinnant; sibling, Patsy (Chuck) Harris and Tommy (Anna) Mehaffey.
A Funeral Service will be held at 3:30pm on Tuesday, September 4 in the Chapel of Moore Funeral Home at Forest Lawn with Rev. Dennis Thurman officiating.
