JAMES L. MESSER

James Louis Messer, age 52, of 695 Sutton Road, died Monday, November 3, 2003.

A native of Haywood County, he was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Melvin Posey and grandparents, Frank and Eula Teague and Creed and Annie Messer. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his mother, Frances Teague Posey of Greenville, SC and his father and stepmother, Troy and Jackie Messer of Clyde; a daughter, Angela Johnson of Greenville, SC; two sons, Troy and J. L. Messer of Greenville, SC; one sister, Gwen Messer of Waynesville; two brothers, Jeff Messer of Atlanta, GA and Steve Messer of Waterville, NC; and two grandchildren, Amanda and T.J. Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2003 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Ted Reeves officiating. Burial will follow in the Messer Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday prior to the service.
