James Frederes

Waynesville, James George Frederes, age 78, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at his residence.

A native of New York, he was a son of the late Daniel and Pauline Danielson Frederes.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Frederes and his sister, Margaret Mountain Dennis.

James proudly served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  For 22 years, James operated his own business as a general contractor, land developer, and real estate broker in Haywood County.  He was a 50 plus year member of the Masonic Lodge, Carroll Lodge #1147 in Frewsburg, New York.  James loved spending winter months in his Dunnellon, Florida home, hitting the golf course, and winning at bingo.  Above all, he enjoyed his life of 57 years with his wife, Pamela.

James is also survived by his two daughters, Susan Elinburg of Whittier and Karen Braun of Maggie Valley; three grandchildren, Edward and Brittany Braun and Devan Elinburg; as well as two great-grandchildren, Cadence and Chase Parrott.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

The care of Mr. Frederes has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes.
