James Worley

Waynesville, James Eugene "Jim" Worley, age 60, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at his home.

A native of Haywood County, Jim was the son of the late Frank and Barbara Lanning Worley.   He was self-employed as a truck driver and mechanic.

Jim resided in the Chestnut Park community of Waynesville for over 50 years and will be remembered as a "gentle giant" who never met a stranger and was always helping others.  He loved God, his family, the beautiful Smokey Mountains, cars, trucks and heavy equipment.  Jim always tried to make the world a better place.

Jim is survived by his wife of 22 years, Angela Worley; two daughters; two sons; four grandchildren; four sisters; two brothers; several nieces and nephews; loving friends; and dog, Bella.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at WNC Freedom Center.

The care of Mr. Worley has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
