JAMES WALTER ''JACK'' DURHAM

Maggie Valley-James Walter ''Jack'' Durham, age 79, Sunset Place, died Tuesday, September 17, 2002 at Haywood Regional Medical Center

A native of Memphis, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Clarence Aubrey and Viola McClung Durham. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Elton Durham. He was a US Army veteran of World War II. He retired in 1987 from Gem Inc. after 20 years service. He enjoyed camping and hiking in the mountains.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joyce Durham; two daughters, Barbara Durham Lemmon, and her husband, Nathan, of Memphis, TN and Marsha Durham Loda and her husband, Pete, of N. Augusta, SC; one sister, Edna Durham, of Maggie Valley; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2002 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home. The family will receive friends a half-hour prior to services.
