James Camerden

April 25, 1932 — December 21, 2002

Waynesville-James Raynor ''Jim'' Camerden, age 70, of 196 East Street, died Saturday, December 21, 2002 at Memorial Mission Hospital.

He was a native of Long Island, NY and was the son of the late Chester Victor and Rose Ann Smith Camerden. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Nancy Camerden and one brother Gene Camerden.

He was a US Navy veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He was an Iron worker in construction with the Woodwire and Metal Lathers Union.

He is survived by his son James C. Camerden and his wife Theresa, of Colorado Springs, CO; a daughter, Laura Camerden, of Gainesville, FL; and a sister, Helen Joan Palmer, of Michigan; and eight grandchildren.

At the request of the family, there will be no services planned.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Legion Post #47 or VFW Post #5202, 216 Miller Street, Waynesville, NC 28786.

Wells Funeral Home in Waynesville is in charge of arrangements.
