Canton – Jack Howard Reynolds, 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 2, 2019 at his residence.
Jack was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a son of the late Jess James and Ellamae Summey Reynolds. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Howard “Tony” Reynolds; and two brothers, C.J. and Pastor Ted Reynolds. Jack served in the United States Army National Guard and Air Guard. He retired from Champion International Paper Company after 35 years of service and was an avid sports fan and particularly enjoyed Dallas Cowboy football and Atlanta Braves baseball. Jack was a skilled builder/woodworker and enjoyed many projects.
He was the rock of his family and unconditionally loved and cared for them. His faith in his Savior Jesus Christ was his foundation.
Jack is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shelba Jene Forrister Reynolds; a daughter, Linda Reynolds Stumpf and husband, William, of Waynesville; a sister, Jan Hawkins and husband, Harry Lee, of Clyde; a sister-in-law, Ann Reynolds of Canton; two grandchildren, Jackson Cabe and Ryan Cabe; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens with the Pastor Darol Britt officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
