Waynesville – Jack Douglas Milner, 85, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home.
A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Harold B. and Lucy Scates Milner. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Milner, who died 2015. He was a United States Army veteran serving as a military policeman at Fort Dix, New Jersey. Jack was an industrial supervisor in the plastic injection molding industry. He was extremely devoted to his wife, Vivian and enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved to play the piano, was a self-made engineer, and loved and embraced technology. Jack enjoyed reading and the study of aeronautics and was very attuned to nature around his home.
He is survived by two daughters, Karen M. Hancock and her husband, Matt, of Columbia and Lisa Creasman of Black Mountain; three sisters, Barbara Gaddy, Patsy Jordan and Janet Franklin all of Waynesville; two grandchildren, Lori Clontz and husband Daniel, and Annaleah Creasman; and one great-grandchild, Laurel Clontz.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Michael Revord officiating. Burial will follow at Greenhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
