Jack Jenkins

December 9, 1957 — June 2, 2007

Waynesville-Jack W. Jenkins, age 49, died Saturday, June 2, 2007 at Magnolia Health Care Center. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late John T. and Anna Jenkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters; Josphine Price, Hazel Thompson and Lucille Finney; four brothers, Fred, Tom, Juel, and Manson Jenkins. He was a carpenter and mechanic who loved carving and drawing and was a member of Cove Creek Baptist Church. He is survived by two daughters, Marsha Jenkins and Michelle Lucie; three sons, Shane and Pless Conard and John Jenkins, Jr; three sisters, Georgia Sue Paulk, Geraldine Phillips, and Betty Justice; two brothers, Jimmy and John Jenkins; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at Green Hill Cemetery with the Reverend Gary Putnam officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. A gathering will follow after the service at Cove Creek Baptist Church. Serving as pallbearers will be Bill Price, Steven Page, Kaleb McCoy, Chan Naillon and Gary Warren. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, P.O. Box 27985, Raleigh, NC 27611.
