J Price

Waynesville, J D Price, age 80, of 2098 Rabbit Skin Road, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at MedWest Haywood. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Glenn and Frances Palmer Price and was also preceded in death by a brother, William "Toot" Price and a half-sister, Susie. J.D. was dedicated to his family and will be remembered for his sense of humor. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Price; two daughters, Jackie Mashburn and her husband, Stanley, and Cathy Sutton, all of Waynesville; one son, Gary Price, of Athens, Tennessee; four half sisters, Jeannette, Debbie, Tammy, and Sandy; one brother, R.D. Price and his wife, Georgia, of Waynesville; six grandchildren, Tracy Payne, Brandon Price, Angie Crisp, Mark Huston, and Sherry and Courtney Mashburn; and four great grandchildren, Dakota Payne, Carson Price, Hunter McMahan, and Braylon Crisp. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 10, 2011 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Tim Cagle officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from Noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, P.O.
