J. Lance

J. P. Lance, age 78, died Monday, October 26, 2009 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Haywood County, he was a son of the late William and Rosie Crayne Lance. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Griffin Lance, and a brother, Clyde Lance. J. P. worked for many years as an auto mechanic for Vance Motor Company and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. He is survived by a sister, Mildred Jimison of Canton; one brother, Poley Lance of Canton; and a half-brother, Buck Smith of Canton. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Bruce Cayton officiating.
