Irene Talbot

Irene Venicia Fincher Talbot passed away peacefully in the morning hours of Ash Wednesday, February 22, 2023.  Born in Haywood County, NC in 1940, she was a 1957 graduate of Enka High School and a United States Air Force Veteran.  She was preceded in death by her parents; Anna Lou and Kermit Fincher, and her brothers; John, Gene, Arnold, and Thelbert Fincher.

Irene was married to Roger Talbot and is survived by their four children, Sharon Talbot Buckles, Chris Talbot, Margaret Talbot Dunbar, and Gordon Talbot; 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren (and counting).

Known for passion for her children and compassion for the elderly, Irene loved travel and gardening.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Francis Asbury United Methodist Church in Candler. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service beginning 2:30 p.m.

The care of Mrs. Talbot has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Candler.
