Hilda Sharp

Waynesville, Hilda Sue McConnell Sharp, age 81, passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Haywood Regional Hospital.

A native of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Walter Burch and Mamie Ethel Hoxit McConnell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Moody who died in 1994; second husband, Edgar Wallace Sharp who died in 2012; brother Roy McConnell. Hilda was a member of Full Gospel Christian Fellowship.

Hilda is survived by her daughter, Jean McConnell Sutton, and her husband, Dewey, of Sylva and Libby Ann Hyatt, and her husband, Michael, of Waynesville; Roger Dale Moody and his wife, Chris and Walter Clifton Moody and his wife, Rachell; brother, Walter Burch McConnell, Jr., of Sylva; special cousin, Bonnie Sutton, of Webster; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Eddie Stillwell, Reverend Neil Roland and Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
