Hilda Pilkington

Canton – Hilda Henson Pilkington, age 87, of Crossroad Hill Road, died Saturday, February 06, 2010 at her residence. A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Kelse and Ellie Pressley Henson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Pilkington, who died in 1990, and a son, Morris Pilkington, who died in 1995. Hilda was a member of North Canton Baptist Church. She never met a stranger and helped neighbors by babysitting, cooking, ironing, or anything they needed. Hilda loved her children and grandchildren. She is survived by a son, Ray Pilkington of Canton; a daughter, Luellen Evans of Canton; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Reverend Mark Caldwell and Reverend Bruce Cayton officiating. Burial will follow at Panther Creek Cemetery in Graham County. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
