Hilda Nichols

Waynesville, Hilda Cagle Nichols, age 88, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2018 at Maggie Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Hilda is a Haywood County native and was the daughter of the late Odell and Effie Hunter Cagle. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Nichols; sisters, Wilma Rathbone and Anna Dee Ball; and a brother, Billy Cagle. Hilda retired with 35 years of service in 1985 from Dayco Corporation. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

Hilda is survived by four sisters, Betty Sue Byrd, Eva Chandler, Dorothy Parton and Linda Best; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 9, 2018 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Tim Lolley officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
