Hattie Hyder

Waynesville-Hattie Underwood Webb Hyder, age 84, of Underwood Road, died Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the Jerry C. and Harriett Curtis Underwood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, John Webb and Clay Hyder; two brothers, Clifford Howell Underwood and Joseph Daniel Underwood. She was a retired LPN at Haywood County Hospital with 34 years of service and was a member of Ratcliffe Cove Baptist Church. She is survived by a sister, Laura Lucille Underwood, of Waynesville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 1, 2005 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Jay Jones, Reverend David Plemmons, and Reverend Kenneth Rhinehart officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home and at other times, the family will be at the residence. Serving as pallbearers will be Andy Fullbright, Poss and Bo Wyatt, Chris Shell, Daryl Calhoun, and Sam Underwood.
