Gregory Irving Parlier, age 66, of Asheville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully to be home with his Lord and Savior on March 21, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
A native of Buncombe County, Gregory, was born on December 30, 1959. He preceded in death by his Father Arley Mills, sister, Sandra Wilcox, and his brother, Ray Parlier.
Gregory was a dedicated electrician who owned and operated Parlier Electrical Company and worked with Emory Electric for nearly 30 years. He took great pride in his work and the relationships he built throughout his career. A 1978 graduate of Enka High School, Gregory enjoyed golfing, woodworking with his Father Arley, camping, and traveling on cruises across the United States. He was a devoted Tar Heels fan and, most importantly, cherished the time he spent with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Denise Penland Parlier, his mother Shirley Mills; two sons, Daniel Parlier (Pinkie) of Asheville and Daryl Parlier (Meghan) of Candler; one sister, Beverly Burrows (Jim); two brothers, Mike Parlier (Angela) and Thomas Parlier (Sheila); and one cherished granddaughter, Mazie Kay Parlier. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the Chapel of Faith Mausoleum, located at 1 Chapel of Faith Drive, Candler, North Carolina 28715, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to CarePartners Hospice, in appreciation of the compassionate care shown to Gregory and his family.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Mark Lenderman, Dr. Martin Palmer, the nursing staff at Messino Cancer Center, Mission Oncology, and Mission Infusion, for their exceptional care and support.
The family of Gregory Irving Parlier has entrusted Wells Funeral Home of Candler with his care.
