Grace Jeanette "Jan"
Williams

Chapel of Faith at Forest Lawn Memorial Park

Grace Jeanette “Jan” (Taylor) Williams, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2026, at the age of 87, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on October 28, 1938, to George Herman Taylor and Grace Eulah Crook Taylor, Jan lived a remarkable life defined by her love of family, dedication to her community, and an unmistakable spirit that made her truly one of a kind.
On March 29, 1956, she married James Med Williams II, beginning a journey together that would span decades and create an extraordinary family legacy. Together, they welcomed nine children, including their son Andrew Shane, who passed away in infancy in 1969. Jan raised eight children, and the family she nurtured grew to include 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Jan believed in the importance of giving back to the community around her. She was involved with the Lions Club, Rotary Club, and Shriners, and generously volunteered her time reading to children and serving residents of nursing homes. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Jan valued faith, service, and the connections she made throughout her life.
She had a wonderful enthusiasm for life’s simple pleasures. Whether attending car shows and local festivals, enjoying an afternoon of bowling, capturing life through photography, or listening to her favorite gospel and country music, Jan found happiness in the activities and people she loved. She embraced life with curiosity, energy, and a spirit that those who knew her will never forget.
While Jan found joy in many things throughout her life, nothing compared to the family she created. From the eight children she raised to the grandchildren and great-grandchildren who followed, her life became woven into the lives of generations. Her greatest legacy is not simply the size of her family, but the countless memories, connections, and stories they will carry forward.
Jan was preceded in death by her husband, James Med Williams; her infant son, Andrew Shane Williams; her parents, George Herman Taylor and Grace Eulah Crook Taylor; and her brothers, Wayne Taylor and Larry Taylor.
She is survived by her brother, Gerald Taylor, and her sisters-is-law Judy Clark (Jim) and Carla Taylor along with her eight children and their families:
Douglas Williams and his wife, Sharon; his children Josh (Melissa) Corley and Douglas (Kendall) Williams; and his grandchildren Carmen, Karis, Katey, and Cash Corley.
Jaimme Williams; her daughter, Sydney Partee; and her grandchildren, Colby Rines and Winter Sherwood.
Cymantha Waites and her husband, Samuel.
James Williams III and his wife, Pam; their children Maggie (Sameer Nanda) Williams Dryden, Katie (Ben) Williams Peden, and Matthew Williams; and their grandchildren Tyler and Isabella Dryden, and Ella, Calvin, and Teddy Phillips.
Kim Williams; her sons Ben (Jarrett Muncy) Dostal and Tayler (Arishaa) Williams; and her grandchildren August Dostal-Muncy, Esa and Ebrahim Williams.
Allison Williams Correll and Michael; their children Justin (Lesly) Correll and Elyse (Damien) Rose; and their grandchildren Creek and Harbour Correll, and Jaxson and Lincoln Rose.
Shannon Williams Parsons and her husband, David; their children Alyssa (Curt) Johnson and Crystal (Adam) Morris; and their grandchildren Riley and Jocelyn Johnson, and Branson and Evelyn Morris.
Truett Williams and his children, TJ and Dakota Williams.
Jan will be remembered for her generous heart, her devotion to family, her service to others, and the many ways she made life memorable for those fortunate enough to know her. Though her absence will be deeply felt, her legacy lives on through the generations who carry her love and memory forward.
A funeral service celebrating Jan’s life will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., at the Chapel of Faith at Wells Funeral Home at Forest Lawn. Burial will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make a donation in the name of the family to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
