Grace Carpenter

GRACE I. CARPENTER Waynesville, NC, Grace Irene Carpenter, age 85, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Smoky Mountain Healthcare and Rehabilitation. A native of Westchester County, New York, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Watson and Anna Helen Florian Carpenter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bruce Carpenter; brother-in-law, Edward Eichhorn; and sister-in-law, Polly Carpenter. She was a retired bank manager employed at Chase-Manhattan Bank in Hawthorne, New York. She is survived by one sister, Mildred Eichhorn, of Waynesville; one brother, Robert Carpenter of Thornwood, New York; four nephews, Jay Eichhorn and his wife, Cheryl, of Waynesville, Robert Carpenter, Jr., Scott Carpenter and Jeffrey Carpenter, all of New York; two nieces, Debra and Nancy Carpenter of Thornwood, New York; many grand nieces and grand nephews; and a sister-in-law, Kathy Carpenter.
