Grace Burnette

Grace Fowler Burnette, age 88, went to be with Jesus on Sunday, October 2, 2011, at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Zennie Pressley Fowler. She was also preceded in death by her husband, of 59 years, Wayne Burnette, who died in 1998 and a sister, Edith Burnette. Grace was a very dedicated member of Morning Star United Methodist Church, where she taught children's Sunday School for many years. She was a wonderful cook, great at crafts and sewing, and a caregiver for many people. She is survived by a daughter, Jeanette Moore and her husband, John, of Etowah; three grandchildren, Zondra Moore of Fletcher, Sherri Moore of Etowah, and Rodney Moore and his wife, Brandy, of Seattle, WA; and three great-grandchildren, Christian Williams and Brianna and Addison Moore. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2011, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Doug Love officiating. Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
