Glenn Clark

October 13, 1938 — January 14, 2009

Glenn Calvin Clark, age 70, of the Dutch Cove Community, died Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Memorial Mission Hospital. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was a son of the late Alden and Elsie King Clark. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, and two sisters. He had a master's degree in science and he taught this subject in Franklin, Tuscola and Pisgah High Schools, along with Waynesville Jr. High School. Glenn loved farming, teaching and most of all his family. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rebecca Jarrett Clark; two sons, Marshall Clark and his wife, Claire, of Cashiers, and Gregory Clark and his wife, Melissa, of Marietta, GA; two daughters, Carmen Frutig and her husband, Ron, of Perrysburg, Ohio, and Michelle Swanson and her husband, Robert, of Locust Grove, GA; three grandsons; six granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2009 at Rockwood United Methodist Church with Reverend Stephen W. Miller and Reverend Wayne Carson officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Haywood County School Foundation, in memory of Glenn Clark, 1230 N. Main Street, Waynesville, NC 28786.
