Gladys Bovey

"1930 – 2016" Canton – Gladys Rhinehart Bovey, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2016 at the Brian Center of Waynesville. A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Bass and Emma Galloway Rhinehart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Bovey, who died in 1980; two sons, Michael and Terry Cagle; sisters, Grace Pitts, Nancy Hipps, Maxine Galloway; brothers, Clyde, Glenn and Henry Rhinehart. She was a graduate of Canton High School and was a former employee of American Enka and Steelcase Manufacturing. Gladys was a diligent and dedicated employee and took exceptional care of her mother during her lifetime. She is survived by one granddaughter, Yvonne Cagle Suttles and her husband, Gene, and one great-granddaughter, Cheyenne Suttles, all of Cross Hill, South Carolina; a sister, Eva Martin of Atlanta, Georgia; a brother, Bruce Rhinehart of Canton; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
