Girtrue Young Talley

Etowah/Canton - Girtrue Hall Young Talley, 90, passed away on February 2, 2023 at The Landing at Mills River.

Girtrue was a native of Haywood County and the daughter of the late Marlin and Annie Mae Franklin Hall. She was also preceded in death by her first husband Cecil Young who passed away in 1996. She graduated from Canton High School and worked 30 years in the banking industry at First Union National Bank and Wells Fargo. Girtrue was a member of Etowah Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 25 years Reverend H. Ray Talley; two step- daughters, Kim Farnes (Jim) and Ginger Talley; stepson, Joel Talley (Michele); sister, Elaine Winfrey; four step- grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 6, 2023 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. The Reverend Joel Talley, Reverend H. Ray Talley, Reverend Jesse Powers, and Reverend Dr. Paul Noe will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
