Ginny Edmundson

Clyde, Virginia DuBois Edmundson, 72, passed away on August 27, 2019 at her residence.

A native of Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Barbara Hoffman DuBois.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ron DuBois. Ginny was a graduate of Norwich Free Academy in Norwich Connecticut, Class of 1965.   Ginny was a Registered Nurse and graduated from the Backus School of Nursing in 1968.  She worked for Backus Hospital in Norwich, Connecticut and Deaconess Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts as well as being a home health nurse for over 30 years in Haywood County.  She was passionate about her job and she truly cared about her patients.  Ginny enjoyed antiquing, attending plays at HART theatre, and walks at Lake Junaluska.  She liked to travel, especially to her native New England, and loved taking care of her flowers and her family.  Ginny was a caring and devoted mother and wife who, despite working full-time as an R.N., still managed to be a full-time mother.  She always maintained a delightful sense of humor which she imparted to her children.  Ginny was deeply loved and will truly be missed by her family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, Wayne Edmundson; a daughter, April Alford, and her husband, Steve, of Asheville; a son, Greg Sessoms, of Waynesville; a stepdaughter, Kristie Sanford, of Elizabethtown, NC; an uncle, James DuBois, and his wife, Betty, of Preston, CT; and five grandchildren, Eva Lambert, Brenden, Brayden, and Brodie Sanford, and Circe Alford.

A celebration of life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at the Wells Events & Reception Center in Waynesville.  Memorials may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America, 2121 K Street, NW, Suite 200, Washington, DC  20037.

The care of Ginny has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes.
