Gertrude Karriker

Hendersonville formerly of Canton – Gertrude Gillett Karriker, 88, passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Four Seasons Hospice-The Elizabeth House.

Gertrude was a native of Haywood County and a daughter of the late Crawford and Pearl Thompson Gillett.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Karriker, who died in 2004; two sisters; and three brothers.  Gertrude retired from Champion International with 20 years of service.

She is survived by a son Chris Taylor and his wife, Elizabeth, of Hendersonville; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

At Gertrude’s request, no formal services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 950 West Farris Road, Greenville, SC  29605.
