Geraldine Lackey

Geraldine Lackey, age 71, passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at MedWest Haywood. A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Bertha Frye Wood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death an infant brother. Jerrie found great enjoyment in cross-stitching and reading books by her favorite author, Stephen King. She had a special place in her heart for her Chihuahua dog, Bear, and her cat, Midnight. Jerrie was a member at Laurel Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Lynne Teetzel, (Mickey) of Waynesville; a special companion, Bobby "Gene" Mehaffey of Waynesville; and one grandchild, Andrew Teetzel. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 2, 2012 at Green Hill Cemetery with the Reverend Gary Putnam officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Fund for animals, P.O.
