Geraldine Harrell

Waynesville, Geraldine "Gerrie" Harrell, age 72, of Chambers Road, died on Monday, January 25, 2010 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Lola Brown Bell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Harrell, who died in 2005; a sister, Velma Henderson; and one brother, Charles Pennington. She was a manager at Gas and Grocery for 20 years prior to working at Go Grocery for the past 7 years. Gerrie enjoyed flower gardening, being with her friends and family, and attending Camp Branch Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Tammy Harris and her husband, John, of Waynesville; two sons, Robert D. Harrell, Jr. of Waynesville and Marion H. Wilson, Jr. and his wife, Sherry, of Joanna, SC; one sister, Alta Pennington, of Williamsburg, VA; three grandchildren, Jeremy H. Turner and his wife, Misty, Courtney M. Harris, and Heather A. Wilson; and three great grandchildren, Madison, Hayden, and Elijah Turner. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2010 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Charles Shaver and Reverend Seth Early officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
