George W. Michal, Jr.
Waynesville, George "Buddy" Michal, Jr., age 59, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at the VA Medical Center.
A native of Haywood County, he was a son of the late George and Dorothy Lance Michal. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother James Daniel Michal. George proudly served his country in the Navy and attended Vine of the Mountains Church. He enjoyed drawing, painting and NASCAR.
George is survived by a son, Aaron Michal; three sisters, Martha Denney (Joseph), of Newport, Tennessee, Mary Ellen Michal (John Dunlap), of Foley, Alabama and Emily Gentry (Richard), of Denver, North Carolina.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2019 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Bruce Blankenship officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, in George’s honor memorials may be made to V.A. Medical Center, Hospice Program, 1100 Tunnel Road, Asheville, NC 28805.
