George Edward Sisk

George Edward “Cisco” Sisk, beloved husband, brother, and friend, passed away on April 4, 2025, at Silver Bluff Village in Canton, NC. He was born on February 12, 1947, in Haywood County, NC, to the late Elmer Price Sisk and Mary Jo Davis Sisk.

Mr. Sisk dedicated 38 years of his life to Evergreen Packaging in Canton, where he was known for his commitment to excellence and his unwavering work ethic, retiring at the age of 71.

Cisco had a personality that shone bright through his deep love and devotion to his wife, Shirley Ann Sisk. They navigated the journeys of life together, with Cisco caring for her through sickness and health. His faith in The Lord was a cornerstone of his life, and he read his Bible daily, embodying a spirit of love and compassion. Cisco found fulfillment in nurturing his faith alongside his community while attending Rocky Face Baptist Church.

In addition to his spiritual life, Cisco was known for enjoying life's simple pleasures. He had a sweet tooth and was rarely without a stash of Oreo cookies. Cisco took great joy in attending and watching NASCAR races with Shirley, and he was an avid visitor of flea markets. His fondness for gardening was evident in the beautifully maintained yard that he tended to with great care and detail.

Mr. Sisk’s family includes his cherished wife, Shirley Ann Sisk, and her children, Rhonda Hooper (Glen) and Keith Jenkins (Debbie). He is also survived by his sister, Penny Sisk Singleton (Jerry); his brother, Sammy Sisk; three step-grandchildren, Aaron Jenkins (Emily), Casey Kirkman (Aaron), and Cody Hooper; along with four step-great-grandchildren, Anna Jenkins, Daniel Kirkman, Leila Kirkman, and Reagan Hall. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will remember him fondly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ida Earlynn Sisk Swanger, with whom he shared countless childhood memories.

A visitation will be held on April 22, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Wells Funeral Home of Canton, located at 3715 Asheville Highway, Canton, NC 28716. Following the visitation, a memorial service will take place at 2:00 PM. Pastor Donnie Henson will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mr. Sisk to Rocky Face Baptist Church, 1635 Worley Cove Road, Canton, NC 28716.

George "Cisco" Sisk will be dearly missed by all who knew him, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and profound compassion that will continue to inspire everyone whose lives he touched.

The care of Mr. Sisk has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
