George Lambert
Asheville – George Franklin Lambert, 83, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2019, at Mission Hospital.
George was a native of Virginia and lived in Sylva, North Carolina. He was the son of the late William Lambert and Bessie Madison Lambert. George was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and William Lambert; two sisters, Louise Miller and Dorothy Johns; a daughter-in-law, Tammy Camp; and a grandson, Mikey Miller. He was a proud Korean War veteran (Army) and was self-employed as a maintenance man and home improvement specialist. George was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins, Texas Rangers, and the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. His favorite team to cheer throughout the year was the Virginia Cavaliers. For pleasure, George loved to play bingo.
George is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ethel Lightsey Lambert; a daughter, Becky Davy (Gary) of Beaufort, South Carolina; three sons, Chuck Camp of Sylva, Ken Camp of Candler, and Billy Johnson of Sylva; eight grandchildren, Scott Camp (Dusti), Jennifer Glenn (Jason), David Miller (Jackie), April Pike (Mike), Kenny Camp (Meghan), Casey Camp, Zack Johnson, and Trevor Johnson;12 great-grandchildren; and his beloved chihuahua, Pebbles.
A memorial service will be held at the Sunrise House of Worship February 15, 2020 at 2:30 p.m.
