Gaye Eller

Gaye Howell Eller, age 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at her residence.  She was a native of Waynesville, NC and lived most of her life in Haywood, Buncombe and Caldwell Counties before moving to Dandridge, TN to live with her daughter, Sherry Gasperson and son-in-law, Les Gasperson.  She was the daughter of the late Dillard and Maude Howell and was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Emmett Eller; brother, Ned Howell; sisters, Faustine Parrott and Margaret Ara Howell; and son, Garry Eller.

She was a graduate of Waynesville Township High School.  She was employed by several insurance agencies as an insurance agent in NC.  She retired in 1991 from Moody Insurance Agency where she worked for many years.

She is survived by daughter, Sherry Gasperson, and her husband, Les Gasperson, of Dandridge, TN and son, Clay Eller and his wife, Rita Eller, of Canton, NC; two beloved nieces, Carolyn Henry and Kendra Buckner; nephew, Charles Howell; five grandchildren (Joseph and Caleb Lyall, Brian and Matthew Eller, and Casty Eller) and ten great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 30, 2022, at the New Cruso Cemetery with Pastor Bryan Myers will officiating.

Charitable donations can be sent to University of Tennessee Medical Center Hospice Services, 3301 W Andrew Johnson Hwy, Suite 102, Morristown, TN 37814.

The care of Mrs. Eller has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
