Doris Gail Revis Burress, 89, of Haywood County, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Cecil M. and Junnie Belle Williams Revis. Gail graduated from Bethel High School Class of 1955 and had worked at Frank’s Grocery as a salesclerk. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She loved cooking and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Burress in 1982; daughter, Pamela Green. and brother, Phil Revis.

She is survived by her son, Kevin L. (Robin) Burress of Canton; granddaughter, Jennifer (Adam) Robinson of Waynesville; great grandchildren, Karlie and Kamden; sister-in-law, Linda Revis, niece, Laura Elmore and nephew, Scott Revis all of Wilkesboro and cousin, Reggie Blaylock, of Ocean Springs, MS.

The family is very thankful to the staff at Silver Bluff for the impact that they have had on her life.

A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel of Wells Funeral Home of Canton on Friday, August 21st at 12:00pm with Rev. Dr. Perry Brindley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at New Cruso Cemetery.

Wells Funeral Home of Canton has been entrusted with the care of Mrs. Burress.
