Freida Rogers

Canton - Freida Gentry Rogers, 70, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018 at The Homestead.

A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Helen Nelson Gentry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Freddie Gentry. Freida enjoyed fishing, cooking, yard sales, gardening, and camping at the lake and beach. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy of Gibson Town.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ernest Rogers; one daughter, Tammy Green (Keith) of Clyde; one son, Tim Rogers (Traci) of Canton; three grandchildren, Brooke Mathis, Savannah Whitted and Seth Green; and two twin great-granddaughters, Baylee and Brinley Mathis.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2018 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Pastor Curtis Stump officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
