Waynesville, Frankie Rathbone Phillips, 89, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2023, at the Pisgah Manor.
A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of Rufus and Mila Messer Rathbone. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Clifford Phillips; her daughter, Pam Martin; and five sisters, Maggie Cagle, Lillie Rathbone, Lenoa Evans, Vena Rhodarmer and Velma Rathbone. Frankie was a member of the Hemphill Baptist Church.
Frankie is survived by a daughter, Lisa Gibson Conard (Ricky); two sons, Lonnie (Jimi) and Ronnie (Francis) Phillips; five grandchildren, Rebecca, Greg, Adele, James, and Matthew, along with several step-grandchildren and great grandchildren, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews, including Marlene Evans McCall.
Special thanks to Pisgah Manor and Four Seasons Hospice for the special care they gave Mrs. Phillips.
Funeral services will be at the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2023 with the Reverend Eddie Capps officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Sugar Cove Cemetery.
The care of Mrs. Phillips has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
