Frank Taylor, Jr.

Canton - Frank Wayne Taylor, Jr., age 75, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals.

A native of Dawson, Georgia, he was the son of the late Frank Wayne and Louise Jones Taylor. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn James Taylor, who passed away in 1988. He retired from Jefferson Smurfit Company with 29 years of service. Frank enjoyed riding a bicycle, camping, beach fishing, traveling, family gatherings, working in his yard and swinging in the "No Stress Zone." He was a member of Dutch Cove Baptist Church.

Frank is survived by his wife of 20 years, Betty Rhodes Taylor; three daughters, Leigh Ann Vaughn and her husband, Michael, of Hickory, Sheila Miller McClure of Canton and Terri Miller Bradley of Waynesville; two sons, Frank Wayne Taylor, III and his wife, Ammie, of Hendersonville; and Mark Miller and his fiancé, Pam Mann of Canton; a sister, Carol Cox and her husband, Charles, of Columbus, Georgia; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Bill James and his wife, Grace, of Marietta, Georgia.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Roy Rigdon officiating. Burial will follow at Morning Star Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
