Frank Fariello

Waynesville, Frank Fariello, age 98, passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Smoky Mountain Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center.

Frank was born and raised in the Bronx, New York.  He later lived in Maspeth, NY, Port Richey, FL, Cooper City, FL and Waynesville, NC. Frank was the son of the late Guisseppe and Angela Savino Fariello.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Fariello who died in 2010; two brothers and three sisters.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII and was stationed in England and France.  Frank retired from the U.S. Postal Service with 30 years of service as a clerk.  He was a proud fan of the N.Y. Yankees and an avid golfer of New York’s municipal courses.  Frank worked his way through the depression helping his father deliver ice and later worked at his uncle’s bakery.

Frank is survived by his daughter, Catherine Schneider, and her husband, Robert, of New Port Richey, Florida; son, Joseph Fariello, and his wife, Anne, of Waynesville, NC; three sisters, Marie Balsamello, Antoinette Cantalupo and Theresa Miner, and her husband, James; three grandchildren, Joseph William, Michael Francis and Elizabeth Margaret Fariello; and a great grandson, Killian Franklin Fariello.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 3, 2018 at Dobies Funeral Home, Congress Street Chapel, in New Port Richey, Florida.  Burial will take place in Florida National Cemetery with military rites provided by American Legion Post 155.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 2 at Dobies Funeral Home.
