Frances Gumbar

Waynesville, Frances Gumbar, age 93, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2014 at The Homestead. A native of Chicago, Illinois, she had resided in Haywood County since 1988. She was the daughter of the late William and Marcella Dailidas Rutledge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony George Gumbar, who died in 2010 and one sister, Norrene Petlik. Frances was employed as an administrative assistant for several trucking firms and was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Lees, of Waynesville; three step-grandchildren; numerous cousins; and special friends, Pam, Lola, and Jamie. A memorial mass will be held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at St. John the Evangelist Church with Father James Cahill officiating.
