Frances Fugate

Canton-Frances Hyatt Fugate, age 77, died Thursday, February 26, 2004 at the Brian Center in Waynesville.

She was a daughter of the late Franklin Wilburn and Hazalee Rector Hyatt and was married to Lewis Fugate who died in 1991. She was a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Freida Fugate Rhinehart and her husband, George of Clyde, a sister, Dawn Hyatt of Alexandria, VA, two brothers, Maurice Hyatt of Barnardsville and Lee Hyatt of Weaverville, 2 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 29, 2004 at Ridgeway Baptist Church with Reverend Jack W. Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services of Canton.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ridgeway Baptist Church Scholarship Fund, 525 Old US 19-23 Hwy, Candler, NC 28715.
