FLORENCE HANNAH HAMPTON

Canton-Florence Hannah Hampton, age 81, of 45 Comet Court, died Monday, October 13, 2003 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late John and Violet Reece Mintz. Her first husband, Andrew J. Hannah, who died in 1988; two brothers, Lawrence and Don Mintz; a son-in-law, Charles ''Buddy'' Creson; and three grandchildren, Chris, Christopher, and Kathy Creson, also preceded her in death. She enjoyed sewing, reading, and cooking.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Hampton; two daughters, Altie Creson of Canton, and Susan Daley and her husband, Timothy, of the Bethel Community; one sister, Mae Mathis of Sylva; six brothers, Oscar, Gene, and Dewey Mintz of Waynesville, Roy Mintz of Canton, Boyd Mintz of Asheville, and Elmer of Thomasville, NC; three grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2003 at Bethel Community Cemetery with Reverend Don Letzring officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:45 on Thursday prior to the service. Serving as pallbearers will be Tim Daley, Ricky Mathis, Jeff Gunner, and Johnny, Charles, and Martin Mintz.
