Florence Evans

Waynesville, Florence Modella Sutton Evans, age 87, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Maggie Valley Nursing Home & Rehabilitation. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Nancy Messer Sutton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Evans, who died in 2004; three sisters and three brothers. Florence was a member of Maggie Valley First Baptist Church. She enjoyed crafts, camping, church work, walking and sewing. Florence is survived by two daughters, Mildred Rich, and her husband, Clyde, and Norma Bryant, all of Maggie Valley; four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. A private family service was held on Monday, March 27, 2017.
